Dr. Audrey Hilliard and family

My name is Dr. Audrey Hilliard and I have a passion for serving others.

From a young age, I have always wanted to be a doctor so I could help people. I love chiropractic because it allows me to do that using a variety of alternative methods. I am not a fan of Bandaid methods of helping people feel better, such as drugs and surgery, although some cases do warrant such an approach. The vast majority of the time, however, we can turn health around by going to the source. Part of the challenge can sometimes be figuring out what that “source” is that is causing a less than optimum expression of health, but the reward makes it worth the effort because we are fixing the root cause and not simply masking symptoms.

The last thing we should do is cover up or ignore a symptom because the body’s primary means of communication is via these expressions of health (or lack thereof). Instead, we should be using these valuable clues to get health back on track so that the body can again express full wellness. That is the key to being truly healthy. The same principle applies to the mental and spiritual aspects of health. For example, ignoring any emotion will end up causing more harm than good. It is a much healthier pursuit to figure out why you are having that feeling and address it so that it doesn’t become buried in the subconscious. There is likely a good reason for the particular emotion being felt and it is best to address it. We need to use the signs being expressed so that we can get the body back on the route to full health and wellness. Being a chiropractor allows me to help people figure out what’s causing them to feel less than optimal so that they can make the appropriate changes and start enjoying their life!

When I’m not helping others change their lives, I’m with my wonderful family. We love to spend time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring nature. I live in a house full of boys. My 11-year old, Levi, has been a huge motivator for me to better myself since the day he entered this world. With lots of support from my family over the years, I continued to pursue my goal of becoming a doctor.

I didn’t always know what kind of doctor I wanted to be, though, so while I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, I switched degrees several times, from Psychology to Geology (rock-hunting has always been a hobby of mine) to Neuroscience. Around that time, I gave birth to my second child Wes. Once he was old enough for me to go back to school, I had finally figured out what kind of doctor I wanted to be… I finally found the profession that would allow me to help others turn their health completely around by going to the source of the issue. I really enjoy using the clues that the body gives in order to figure out the root cause and help guide people back to full health so that they can start enjoying life and all it has to offer. I look forward to seeing you soon and can’t wait to help you start living the life you were meant to live.
